A dramatic switch in the 'low-carb' school of thought was led primarily by Jane Brody, in her successful publication, 'Good Food Book', which recommended a diet rich in carbohydrates, which were now seen as 'heart healthy' foods, and low-fats, with butter and other saturated fats seen as the devils.
