Eating 5 A Day
Replacing unhealthy snacks such as biscuits or crisps with fresh fruit and vegetables is a good habit to get into. The recommendation is to eat five portions of fresh fruit and vegetables a day, a combination of five in total, the difficulty is knowing whether one or five grapes is a portion. 2 plums, 2 satsumas, 3 apricots, 2 kiwi fruit, 7 strawberries, 14 cherries, 6 lychees, 1 apple, 1 banana, 1 pear, 1 orange, 1 nectarine, 1 sharon fruit, ½ grapefruit, 1 slice of papaya, 1 slice of melon, 1 large slice of pineapple, 2 slices of mango, 1 tablespoon of raisins, currants, sultanas or mixed fruit, 2 dried figs, 3 dried prunes.
